New Zealanders

discovering their Heritage

The Turnbull Endowment Trust supports access to, and interpretation of the Alexander Turnbull Library’s vast, rich collections, ensuring that our stories and documentary heritage are available to all.

New Zealand stories come to light through use. Researchers, curators and the visiting public bring their perspectives and expertise to the Alexander Turnbull Library, using its collections to tell stories that help us understand and reflect on our history.

The Alexander Turnbull Library holds New Zealand’s documentary heritage, entrusted over its 100-year plus history. It continues to grow enriched by donations to its collections from everyday people. From New Zealand’s earliest newspapers to the master recordings of iconic Flying Nun Bands, the Library is a repository for our shared and unique culture, held in perpetuity.

“We are what we keep, we keep what we are.”

Mark Crookston, Associate Chief Librarian
