The end of an era, and the start of something new

Wednesday 17th July signalled the end of an era for the Guardians of the New Zealand Cartoon Archive as they held their final meeting before disbanding. Oversight of the Archive is now the complete responsibility of the Alexander Turnbull Library, who announced that the Archive’s scope will expand to include comics. A function was held at the National Library in Wellington to acknowledge and thank the group for their work.

The Alexander Turnbull Library Endowment Trust has managed the Guardians’ funds since 2005.
